Hello Everyone!

Well the Grace Soccer Academy begins soon and we hope you are as excited as we are! 

As we get ready for the clinic we wanted to drop you a quick acknowledgement that we have your child/children registered and are enthusiastically looking forward to next week's clinic.  Space is extremely limited so if you know someone that has not registered, please have them call ahead (732-681-3712) to ensure there is room for there age group. 

Here a just a few reminders:

1. The clinic begins at 6:00 pm on Monday, but registration will open at 5:30 pm.  Each child will receive a free ball and T-shirt and later that night a New Testament Bible.  Since it will take a few moments to register, please arrive at least 15 minutes early.

2. In case of rain, we will still have the clinic but we'll meet in our gym. If you are not sure of the weather status, check our website weather alerts page or call the church at 732-938-3111.

3.  We will provide water for all children, but you are welcome to bring your own to, but make sure all water bottles are labeled. 

4.  Shin guards and cleats are helpful but not mandatory.

5. Your are definitely welcome to stay at the clinic, there are bleachers and you are welcome to bring your chairs. 

6.  We are hoping to have The New York Red Bulls street team will be with us on Monday and Thursday of the clinic.  We are also working on bringing a professional player from the NY Red Bulls on Wednesday evening.  We will announce this on Tuesday evening of the clinic. 

8.  We will be giving each child a professional photo of there group team.

We plan on having about 150 children participate daily in our soccer clinic. Most parents seem to prefer to stay and watch the clinic. We prefer this too. However, you are not required to stay and may come back for your children at around 8 PM. We do ask that if you have particularly young children, or children with special needs, that you remain at the clinic for the entire time.

This is our gift to you and your family. We believe it is an extension of God's grace and mercy towards us and we want to pass that along to you. Along those same lines, some times parents want to bring snacks for the entire group. Because of safety reasons, we would ask that you not. If you still really want to bring something, perhaps you can arrange with Todd Scottson to bring some ice for the coolers or small bottles of water.

We are extremely grateful for the Red Bulls involvement in our clinic. Their presence and demonstrations are some of the highlights of our clinic. Last year we were able to have one of the Red Bull Professional players join our clinic for an evening. We are working on similar opportunity this year, but scheduling a player is not guaranteed. Also, each year the Red Bull Street Team has come and assist with our clinic. The Street Team is a specific branch of the Red Bulls soccer club that helps with community activities. When they are not with clinics such as ours, they can be seen performing stunts and tricks at Red Bulls games along the side lines and during the half time. While they are not the professional players who play in the games, they are very talented young men and who women bring much excitement and usually a few gifts with them.

We have designed our clinic to have sequential skill building. However, your child does not have to attend every night. It is always an encouragement to our volunteer staff when the kids make every effort to attend every night.

You can see from our brochure that we have a rather large volunteer staff. All of those who are in coaching and assisting positions have prior soccer experience and most have coaching experience outside of just our clinic. Two of our volunteers have been college soccer coaches and a third is a regular coach in a local traveling league. Thus, we seek to offer a clinic that is challenging to experienced players but welcoming to beginners. We organize our clinic on the principle of consistent movement and activity. Generally, you won't see our students standing in long lines waiting to practice a drill. Thus, when enrolling your child, keep in mind that he or she will be running throughout the night.

We are offering you a clinic that will provide your child with an exciting, lots of fun, challenging and enriching good time. When it comes to enriching your child, we will provide a 10-15 minute message at the end of each night. These messages will be based on the Bible and we encourage you as the parent to listen in on what we are saying. We hope and trust that the entire clinic will be a positive, memorable part of your child's life.
