The Holidays are wonderful times in the life of Grace Tabernacle. These seasons are filled with services and ministries that enrich the soul, focus on the Lord and remain faithful to the holiday’s heritage.
Resurrection Sunday/Easter:
During the Easter Season we seek to focus our hearts upon the perfect life of Christ, His sacrificial death on our behalf, and His glorious resurrection. On Good Friday, we join with other area churches at the First Baptist Church of Asbury Park from noon to 3 p.m. Usually Pastor Smith is one of the speakers at that service. Later in the evening, we hold our own Good Friday Communion service back at Grace Tabernacle. This soul-searching service usually ends with a quiet dismissal as we remember the ultimate price our Lord paid. On Sunday, we celebrate our Lord’s resurrection and come together in worship and praise. The Sunday service is filled with celebration and proclamation of our Lord’s life-giving defeat over death!
Please note that for 2010, although our Good Friday Service will be held at 7 PM at the Lake Como Church, Easter Sunday will be our FIRST WORSHIP SERVICE in the new facility! The service time will be 10:30 AM. The new facility is located at 4041 Squankum-Allenwood RD, Allenwood NJ 08720. Click on the "New Building/Facility" page under "About Us" for more information on the new facility.
Thanksgiving:
On Thanksgiving we come together in the morning for a time of testimony and praise. We usually begin with a light breakfast, then worship the Lord through song and a brief message from His word. Midway through the service, we open the time up for impromptu testimonies from the church family about God's blessings this past year. This is a great opportunity to be part of one another’s lives as well as bring children out to celebrate God’s faithfulness to our country as well as our homes.
Christmas:
At Christmas time, we celebrate the awesome event of God’s incarnation throughout the month of December. Early in the month, we hold an elegant Christmas party at a nearby banquet hall. This charming night allows for us to fellowship in a beautiful setting along with an enjoyable musical program. On the Sunday before Christmas, we host a delightful Christmas Carol party as we go out into the neighborhood announcing the birth of Christ. Later we come back for a potluck and hymn-sing. Finally, we conclude the Christmas season with our Christmas Eve Candlelight service which is a joyful time of anticipation and celebration of Christ’s miraculous birth. We weave together a message from God’s Word, beautiful solos and choral pieces with traditional hymns and carols celebrating our Lord’s birth.
Join us for these holiday events! We hope and trust that celebrating these holidays together will enrich your soul and deepen your gratitude towards our Lord.
