Message from Pastor Smith

It is our privilege to welcome you in the matchless Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

For nearly 60 years the Grace Tabernacle has faithfully served Jesus Christ as a lighthouse of truth on the Jersey shore. We are an independent Bible church, which upholds the exposition of God’s Word and is devoted to prayer, fellowship, missions and discipleship.

Our growing church is composed of a unique blend of diverse individuals. The congregation represents people from different age, ethnic and spiritual backgrounds yet in harmony under the cross of Christ. Our church family takes great joy in being together during both formal and informal times of fellowship. We understand the need to function as one unified body to build each other up in the faith and carry one another’s burdens.

The purpose of the church is to display the glory of Jesus Christ. We take that spiritual calling very seriously. We make every attempt to equip the congregation in our times together through the clear teaching of God’s Word. With this instruction, individuals are established in the faith and able to function in their homes and communities an ambassador for Jesus Christ.

The congregation throughout the years has demonstrated a sincere commitment to live for the glory of God. We do our best to welcome, love and serve whomever God chooses to bring our way. We are a place for those seeking peace, forgiveness and hope. We are the Grace Tabernacle, living to exalt our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Randy Smith was born in New York City but moved early in life to the Chicago suburbs. He graduated from Illinois State University in 1988 (BS) and Chicago State University in 1994 (MA). For nine years Randy worked as a public school educator and athletic coach. In 1997 he began full-time ministry at Grace Church of DuPage in Illinois. He graduated from Wheaton College in 2001 (MA), the same year he moved to New Jersey to become the senior pastor of the Grace Tabernacle. Randy and his wife Julie have three daughters.
Russ Brewer, Associate Pastor Russ Brewer

Russ Brewer was raised in Middletown, NJ. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago (BA) in 1996. After college, Russ worked at Motorola and later at Harvest Bible Chapel in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. In 2000, he and his wife Corinne moved to Los Angeles to attend The Master's Seminary and graduated in 2003 (MDiv). In 2005, after two years of church planting in downtown Los Angeles, the Brewers came to Grace Tabernacle. Russ and Corinne have three children.

Bill Taylor was raised in Point Pleasant, NJ and has been in the flooring business most of his life. He and his wife Tracy both came to the Lord more than 20 years ago after his mother— who had been attending Grace Tabernacle— invited them to join her. Bill has served in leadership at Grace Tabernacle since the mid 1990s and became an elder in 2002. Bill and Tracy have an adult son who is a member .
